Simon on RadiYO

I'm always being approached to do radio and TV shows. Producer Alex Black asked me to turn poacher become gamekeeper and finally interviewer under the brand RadiYO! to make a series of shows that help listeners learn about business by talking to those who have been successful at it.

I jumped at the opportunity. Learning by doing is the best way, but learning by talking to those who have done it helps pave the way for a smoother journey.

The Concept

RadiYO! is a partnership between GCap Media and Simon Woodroffe OBE the founder of YO! Sushi, YOTEL and YO! Company.

The Heroes Show is a groundbreaking talk show delivered as a podcast through Creation Podcasts, GCap's new "Radio On Demand" initiative. Set against a backdrop of the River Thames, Simon invites influential people from the world of business onto his houseboat to find out what makes them tick.

Every 30 minute episode of the RadiYO! Heroes show is based around a theme, which could be 'Raising Money' or 'Confidence' or 'Fear' or 'Being a Maverick'. Simon probes into the background of his two guests looking to unearth the secrets of their success within the context of the show's theme. The result is an open conversation where Simon draws out motivational anecdotes and sound business advice, to inform and inspire the listener.
